Casual Administration Support Officer (Buildings and Facilities)

Are you the organised, adaptable type who thrives on variety and loves being at the heart of the action? Do spreadsheets, emails, and checklists secretly make your day? Then we want you on our team!

Cook Shire Council is on the lookout for a switched-on Casual Administration Support Officer to support our Buildings and Facilities crew. This isn’t just about sitting behind a desk — it’s about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and being the go-to support legend for our projects and day-to-day work.

Why choose Cook Shire Council?

At Cook Shire, we’re more than just a Council — we’re a team that genuinely cares about community. You’ll have the opportunity to grow, learn and contribute to projects that shape the region.

  • Training provided
  • Work with a friendly, down-to-earth team
  • Casual flexibility with meaningful impact

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same! You'll be:

  • Juggling admin tasks like data entry, filing and keeping our records in top shape
  • Helping get real community projects off the ground by supporting planning and delivery
  • Drafting reports and emails that don’t just tick boxes – they get things moving
  • Keeping correspondence organised and making sure nothing slips through the cracks
  • Pitching in on finances, meeting arrangements and stakeholder chats
  • Supporting a team that appreciates initiative, clear communication and good vibes

What we're looking for

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • A knack for staying organised (and keeping others organised too)
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • A curiosity for learning new systems and ways of working
  • Local Government experience is a bonus – but not a dealbreaker!
