Customer Service Officer - Part Time
Cook Shire Council is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join our dedicated front office team. You will assist customers across a range of channels — in-person, phone, email, and online — ensuring a positive and professional experience. You will also process applications, handle payments, manage bookings and enquiries, and support other administrative functions that keep Council operations running smoothly.

What you'll be doing
- Provide exceptional customer service to the Community.
- Respond to enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Accurately process payments, receipts, and end-of-day reports.
- Support mail processing, venue bookings, and application handling.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold Council’s standards and values.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
What we're looking for
You will be a friendly, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for excellent service.
- Qualifications and Experience in Customer Engagement, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Cash handling experience and confidence with EFTPOS and financial systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using corporate or records management systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritise, and work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
