Cook Shire Council is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Coordinator to take the reins of our flagship community assets, including the Cooktown Events Centre and Cooktown Swimming Pool.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of key recreation facilities
  • Develop and deliver vibrant community programs and events
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, clubs, and local organisations
  • Drive financial performance and sustainability
  • Lead and inspire a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure high standards of safety, compliance and customer service
  • Play a key role in community resilience, including emergency response readiness
