Executive Assistant to Director Infrastructure
Cook Shire Council is looking for an organised, proactive and professional Executive Assistant to work closely with our Director Infrastructure and help keep one of Council’s most important directorates running smoothly.
The primary focus is to facilitate the effective implementation of Council's Strategic and Operational Plans, Capital Works Program and Asset Management Plans by supporting the Director of Infrastructure with expert administrative assistance.

What you'll be doing
- Provide high quality administrative support and assistance to Director Infrastructure including Departments.
- Undertake special projects and research tasks.
- Produce reports, presentations, and meeting agendas in a timely and accurate manner.
- Arrange and attend meetings and document minutes , agendas and follow-up actions
- Assist with email management and prioritise messages to ensure timely responses.
- Track and follow up on action items from meetings and ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage diary appointments and assist in the arrangement of meetings, appointments and travel arrangements, & act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Draft correspondence on behalf of the Director Infrastructure in preparation for signature.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working with a senior management team.
- Well developed organisational and time management skills with a a sound understanding of governance, confidentiality and compliance
- Ability to build professional relationships and provide a high level of customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Can-do attitude with a commitment to the achievement of Council outcomes.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and a high degree of integrity and work ethic.
- Self starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to learn Council systems
- A valid QLD Driver’s Licence.
