Casual Library Officer

If you're an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual we'd love to hear from you! We’re looking for a friendly, community-minded local to join our team as a Casual Library Officer.  

We are seeking someone who:

  • enjoy helping others 
  • love being surrounded by books 
  • don’t mind lending a hand with children’s programs and events 
  • No library experience needed – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Casual Library Officer

Location:

Based at Cooktown Library - Helen Street, Cooktown.  – may be required to travel to other community libraries for relief support 

Tenure:

Casual - with no guaranteed hours. Shifts will be offered as needed, based on relief requirements and service demands 

Remuneration:

Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A: Division 2, Section 1) Award – State 2017 – Level 1. 

$44.07 per hour (includes casual loading). Penalty rates apply for weekend work 

Superannuation

12% Superannuation contributions
