DRFA Operations Coordinator
Cook Shire Council is looking for a highly motivated individual with professional experience in civil construction and management of Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) projects.
The successful candidate must have a strong community and customer focused mantra with a genuine desire to deliver exceptional services to our community and its people.
This position primarily focuses on seamless projects delivery; ensuring efficient resource allocation; proactive site management and effective stakeholder coordination across Cook Shire's recovery projects. This position will also be responsible for prompt organisation of immediate repairs to stabilise affected infrastructure following a disaster event.

What you'll be doing
- Coordinate and support delivery of DRFA recovery works
- Manage close-outs and maintain compliance with QRA reporting requirements including maintain records and submissions through the MARS funding portal
- Handle audit queries and conduct site inspections and road assessments to verify compliance with project requirements
- Complete Annual QLeave requirements.
- Oversee safety aspects, ensuring compliance with WHS standards.
- Manage and liaise with Gangers and Foremen to ensure the locating and usage of approved gravel pits.
- Maintain and collate gravel, water and spoil tally sheets.
- Proactively identify, obtain and keep updated all required permits and approvals for new and renewed grave quarries and pits.
- Prepare and manage procurement activities including ROPS tender for DRFA works resources.
- Assist Council's engineering department with any Betterment and other Capital Works Projects with overlapping scope for DRFA works.
- Perform road pick-up, inspections and supervision of the delivery of DRFA works as required.
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualifications and / or proven professional experience in civil construction or infrastructure operations.
- Experience in DRFA processes (preferred, but willing to train the right candidate).
- Proven experience in innovative and facilitative leadership style resulting in a high performing team.
- Proven knowledge in compliance, legislation, safety, risk and contract administration.
- Experience managing contractors, schedules and project documentation.
- Exceptional customer service, written and verbal communication skills at all times.
- Highly developed organisational skills.
- Ability to critically analyse issues and the ability to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
- High level of computer literacy and computer application experience.
- A valid QLD C Class Driver’s Licence.
