What you'll be doing

  • Servicing, repairing, and maintaining Council’s fleet, heavy plant and fixed plant
  • Attending breakdowns and performing on-the-spot fixes where needed
  • Conducting inspections, diagnosing faults and keeping detailed service records
  • Training apprentices and sharing your expertise
  • Minor welding, oxy cutting, and assisting with new equipment installations

What we're looking for

  • Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter/Mechanic with experience in light and heavy machinery
  • Valid C-Class Driver’s Licence (HR Licence desirable)
  • Construction White Card & Forklift Licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel and camp in remote locations when needed
  • Physically fit and ready for hands-on work

9-day fortnight (every 2nd Friday off)

Remuneration:

Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C: Division 2, Section 2) Award – State 2017 – Level C10 to C5, dependent on qualifications and experience

Between $67,940 and $80,177 per annum + Over Award Payment

Leave Entitlements

5 weeks annual leave

15 days personal leave

Superannuation

11.5% Superannuation contributions
